MINISTRY LOCATIONS
The vision of ATRM is to facilitate transformational rehabilitation ministry to commercial sex workers all across the African continent. Commercial sex work is conducted in large cities and small village all across Africa. Women go to the streets to provide financial support for their needs and the needs of their children. ATRM targets metropolitan cities due to their large population of sex work. Currently, ATRM has four ministry centers located in Kenya and Tanzania.
Mombasa, Kenya
Mombasa sits on the southeastern coast of Kenya along the Indian Ocean. It was the oldest city and first capital of British East Africa. Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya and it is known for tourism. A sizable Muslim population resides in Mombasa. ATRM began its ministry among sex workers in Mombasa in July of 2024. African ATRM Center Directors report that the largest number of Kenyan sex workers are found in Mombasa. There is an incredible excitement among those enlisted in the ATRM program. Pray for the Lord to bring a life-changing ministry in Mombasa.
Kisumu, Kenya
Kisumu is the third largest city in Kenya. It is a strategic port city located on Lake Victoria. It is known for being one of the cleanest yet poorest large cities in Kenya. It sits on the far west side of Kenya. ATRM began ministry in Kisumu in August of 2024. Many lives of sex workers and their children have been radically changed. There are many more needing hope that is found only in Jesus.
Nakuru, Kenya
Nakuru sits northwest of Nairobi in the Great Rift Valley. It is the fourth largest city in Kenya and is a commercial and transportation center in west-central Kenya. The people of Nakuru are diverse with a mixture of African tribes. ATRM has conducted ministry to several groups of commercial sex workers, and it has seen many lives transformed and rehabilitated by the power of the gospel of Jesus.
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Dar es Salaam is the capital of Tanzania, and it is the largest city in East Africa. Its total population exceeds five million people. The eastern coast of Dar es Salaam sits along the Indian Ocean. While it is an industrial and economic center, the vast majority of population relies on agriculture and lives in extreme poverty. Sex work proliferates largely due to poverty and a culture of sexual promiscuity.
